Tala Brinderson - Owner / Occupational Therapist

Advanced Certifications: Ayres Sensory Integration

Speciality Certifications: Reflex Integration and Rhythmic Movement, Myofacial Release, Yoga and Mindfulness, SOS Approach to Feeding, Therapeutic Listening, Interactive Metronome, Neurodevelopment Treatment of Baby and Child.

I value the development of the whole-child. Becoming a mother of two boys and being surrounded by new parents increased my love for working with children and their families. I am passionate about trying to figure out the underlying factors that inhibit a child’s ability to make progress in their daily life. My eight years of experience has given me invaluable tools to help each unique child reach their full potential. On my free time, I enjoy going to the beach with my family, cooking, playing tennis, practicing yoga, and traveling.

I have a passion for working with children and their families to achieve goals that are of highest importance to them. I believe in the power of working as a team with the child, family and other specialists to develop creative solutions. I have experience working with children with a wide range of diagnoses on improving confidence and skills necessary to navigate various environments and daily routines with greater ease. I enjoy utilizing NDT handling techniques and foundations of yoga during my therapy sessions to facilitate natural movement. I also love working with children on building skills necessary to participate in meal-time both safely and enjoyably. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and watching my son grow and experience the world for the first time. I also like to practice yoga, travel, hike, rock climb and mountain bike.

Amanda Fink - Owner / Occupational Therapist

Advanced Certifications: Swallowing Assessment, Evaluation, and Intervention

Speciality Certifications: Beckman Oral Motor, Handwriting Without Tears, SOS Approach to Feeding, Therapeutic Listening, Interactive Metronome, Neurodevelopmental Treatment of Baby and Child.

I love helping children learn about their environment using their senses. Having two children, and a daughter born with a congenital heart defect, I understand the depth of love and tenacity parents hold for their children. My greatest satisfaction comes from watching the clients I work with achieve their goals using a family-centered approach. Seeing a child and their parents smile together is something that never gets old. Together with my family I love to spend time at the river, camping, beach, and exploring nature whenever possible.

Advanced Certifications: Pediatric VitalStim

I have experience providing individual and group therapy for children of all communication needs, as well as feeding and swallowing. My area specialty is Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC), and I am passionate about improving children’s functional communication and language skills to achieve independence through low tech (i.e., eye gaze, ASL, pictures, etc.) and/or high tech (i.e., communication programs such as LAMP WFL, PRC Unity, TouchChat, Snap+Core First, GoTalk Now+, Speak for Yourself, and Proloquo2Go) communication strategies. I love being part of a multidisciplinary team as it allows me to collaborate in order to maximize each child’s potential to achieve their goals. I enjoy spending time reading, running, and traveling with my husband to Formula One races.

Hilary Spannagel - Speech and Language Pathologist

I am passionate about helping children find their “voices.” Specifically, I believe in developing a functional communication system where a child can experience the power of their words through verbalization, gesture, sign, and/or augmentative communication. I am PROMPT trained, LAMP trained, and my areas of specialty are Speech Sound Disorders and Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC). As a mother of two boys who attended speech therapy for 8 years, I understand the importance of carryover at home and make an effort to inform parents about the strategies implemented in therapy. When I’m not in the clinic, you can find me on a soccer field cheering on my two boys, reading, cooking, and spending time with my family.

I take a holistic, collaborative approach to therapy and combine my expertise in the areas of language, cognition, articulation, fluency and voice with parent's wisdom to determine the best treatment plans for children. I love seeing children grow into who they are as they learn to navigate their world through language and the blossoming of family and community relationships. My three sons and spouse keep me humble and laughing, and I am honored to work with Infinity Kids.

Anisa Waheeduddin - Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant

I am excited to be working with such a collaborative team at Infinity Kids. I used to teach psychology, but after my child was diagnosed with special needs at a young age I was introduced to the wonderful world of speech therapy, and 13 years later went back to school to become a speech therapy assistant. I have experience working with school-age children whose challenges range from mild to profound. I am committed to helping children be the best that they can be by building up their language skills through play-based speech therapy and intervention. I have lived in Lake Forest for over 19 years with my husband and two children. In my spare time, I love to cook, garden, catch up on my favorite TV shows and spend time with family.

Carrie Pulone - Speech and Language Pathologist Assistant

I have experience providing individualized therapy to young children with needs in receptive and expressive and language, pragmatic/social language, articulation and fluency and find great value in the collaborative benefits of working as part of a multidisciplinary team. I strive to discover and highlight each child’s strengths and abilities an utilizes these strengths to nurture their language development. For early intervention aged children I employ play-based therapy to target their speech and language goals. After being a stay-at-home mom and raising three children, I returned to school and received my degree as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant. My unique experience as being a mother to two children with special needs enriches my compassion and patience in the therapeutic process.

I love teaching kids to explore their environment by rolling, crawling, walking, and jumping. I believe that kids can be most successful through fun and play based therapy. My training in Neurodevelopmental treatment (NDT) allows  me to assess movement limitations in children and provide the best approach in order for them to reach their goals. The most rewarding part of my job is being a part of the child’s life as they achieve their milestones for the very first time.
